(Adds comments in paragraphs 6–7)

MOSCOW, Sep 3 (PRIME) -- Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a ruling to resume air traffic with Egypt, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Maldives, the government’s press service said Thursday.

“Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a ruling on the resumption of international flights on a reciprocal basis with the following countries: Egypt (Cairo), three flights a week; the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), two flights a week; Republic of Maldives (Velana airport), two flights a week,” the statement said.

Mishustin also signed a decree on multiple border crossings for Russians whose relatives live abroad and require special care.

Russian flagship carrier Aeroflot is actively working with aviation authorities of the UAE, the Maldives, and Egypt on resumption of flights and expects the discussed issues to be solved soon, press secretary Yulia Spivakova told reporters.

“Aeroflot is actively working with the aviation authorities of the UAE, the Maldives and Egypt on the resumption of regular flights. Slots are being discussed, scheduling and security issues are being clarified on a bilateral basis. We look forward to resolving issues in the very near future,” Spivakova said.

Spivakova also said that Aeroflot does not see the possibility of resuming flights to Greece despite the opening of the border due to the current restrictions.

“Taking into account the current restrictions, Aeroflot does not yet see the possibility of resuming flights to the cities of Greece,” she said.

A representative of Russian airline S7 said earlier that the company is ready to carry flights between Novosibirsk and Dubai.

"S7 is ready to carry flights on the Novosibirsk–Dubai route, but we do not know the terms of frequency distribution yet," the person said.
